Steps

1. Gather the materials listed in the Things You'll Need. All you really need is a piece of thread, but you may wish to draw in your desired eyebrow shape with a pencil or numb the area with some ice or cold water.


2. Tie the ends of the thread together so they form a circle. Snip off any extra thread beyond the knot in the thread.

3. Hold the section of the thread with the knot in one hand, and hold the opposite section with your other hand.
4. Twist the hand without the knot five or six times, while holding the other section of the thread tightly (this is to avoid getting the knot in the middle of the thread). You should have an infinity or hourglass shape.
5. Practice opening one hand, while closing the other at the same time. The twisting thread in the middle is what will remove the hair. Practicing the scissor motion will help you later on.
6. Hold your hands so your fingers are facing away from your face, and position them over one eyebrow.
7. Place the triangle of the thread, so that the hair you want to pluck is within the thread. You should be threading against the direction the hair grows, so you should move the point of the triangle opposite the direction the hair grows.
8. Close the hand controlling the triangle around the hair, as you open the other hand. Make sure the thread is still touching the skin, and quickly make the opposite motion (scissors). The hair should be pulled out!
9. Keep practicing at threading. It takes a little practice to be able to do it well.

  • Threading can be used on upper lip hairs as well. Just make sure the skin is taut by pulling your lip into your mouth or sticking your thumb under that area of the skin.
  • You can use this same technique to thread someone else's eyebrows. Have them pull the skin taut around their eyebrows with their hands, so you don't accidentally thread the skin (ouch).
Warnings
  • Threading can take out a lot of hair very quickly. Be careful that you don't remove a whole section of your eyebrow.
  • Be careful to thread just the hair. If you accidentally catch the skin it can be rather painful.

Acne Prevention - Tip #1:
Don't over-wash. Since dirt is not causing your acne, excessive scrubbing and washing won't make it go away. Try to limit yourself to two washings per day — anything more than that can leave your healthy skin dry, and your acne-prone areas irritated. Habitual over-washing may also stimulate extra oil production, which could result in more breakouts.

Acne Prevention - Tip #2: 
Skip harsh scrubs. It's okay to exfoliate, but be sure to use a gentle formula with small, smooth grains. Avoid products with almond or apricot shell fragments; they can irritate or even tear your skin and further aggravate your acne.

Say no to alcohol. If you use a toner, avoid products with high concentrations of isopropyl alcohol, or common rubbing alcohol. If you can, shower off immediately and change into dry clothes before driving home. If this isn’t possible, change into dry clothes and wipe down as well as you can. When toweling sweat off your face, always use a clean towel, and blot gently rather than wipe. Vigorous wiping can irritate your skin, driving make-up and sunscreen deeper into the pores.

Acne & Exercise - Showering.
Again, it’s best to shower immediately after working out. You may want to use a medicated exfoliant cleanser, but always be gentle with your skin. Scrubbing harder isn’t going to make you any cleaner, or make your acne go away — and it may actually irritate existing lesions or promote the development of new ones. If you can't shower right away, you can still curb breakouts by wiping down with medicated pads; keep a few in your gym bag just in case.
